Abstract
The author presents a new lead coin in the Bank of Israel collection with the types of Hermes
and parallel cornucopias flanked by stars. On the basis of the types it is suggested that the mint
was probably Marathus in northern Phoenicia, although some iconographic questions remain.
A survey of the use of Hermes and parallel cornucopias in the southern Levant is included.
