Abstract
Ahoard containing 14 solidi dating to the time of Justinian I (527–565 CE) was found in a
ceramic juglet in the interstices of the southern wall of the synagogue at Deir ‘Aziz. Since
it was found in a public building it was probably the property of the community, and may
be viewed as an emergency hoard, deposited in the latter part of Justinian I’s reign.
